Designs of Orffyreus’ perpetual motion machine were similar and indeed simple. Once Orffyreus himself remarked: "It is so well designed that it is not necessary to stop it to carry out repairs or servicing." However, in order to prevent one to have any easy access to understand his machine, he intentionally produced complex designs.
